The Role
 
As part of our Metering Services department and working as part of an established team. The role will involve planning the work of SMS field engineers, including grouping jobs in the most efficient way possible and arranging access ahead of their visit. You will provide constant support to SMS’s field engineers and any sub-contractors, including directions when necessary, and schedule amendments in order to maximise meter installs and keep cancelled jobs to a minimum. The role also involves working closely with other areas of the Company to accommodate customer requirements.
 
Working hours will be Monday to Friday between the hours of 8.30am - 5pm , 37.5 hours per week .
 
No Weekend working, No shifts, No Bank holiday working.
 
 
Typical Duties
 
  • Schedule work for SMS Field Engineers to ensure working day is efficient as possible
  • Arrange access as appropriate (primarily over the telephone) to ensure engineer can complete scheduled jobs
  • Ensure that all jobs are claimed by the morning after job completion
  • Identify any issues and raise to Metering Delivery Manager
  • Provide support to all SMS Field Engineers and sub-contractors
  • Maintain Metering Database and any other relevant systems
  • Ensure industry flows are sent where necessary
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure optimum service delivery
  • Handling of ad-hoc queries from engineers, customers, Suppliers, and other teams
 

Skills
  • Organisation and Time management skills are essential
  • Communication, written and verbal skills are essential
  • Technical knowledge to offer solutions and Reporting using relevant systems/databases would be desirable

 
Experience and Education
  • Education up to GCSE (or equivalent) standard
  • Experience of working in a team
  • Experience of an environment where the communication is largely telephone based
  • Experience of working under pressure and delivering deadlines
  • Recognised course / qualification in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel ect) would be desirable
  • Experience in energy industry or similar would be desirable
