What's the role?

 

As a Level 1 I&C Engineer you will be involved in visiting different sites installing, exchanging, maintenance and removal of all types of Industrial & Commercial gas meters all pressure tiers and associated items including telemetry equipment. Most often this will involve solitary working, with larger installations you will be accompanied by an assistant.   You will also maintain adequate stock levels on the company vehicle and communicate with various internal departments to review planning, stock, vehicle issues etc.

Work Schedule - 40 contractual hours per week. Monday to Friday

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Use equipment and materials in line with training instructions and safe systems of work
  • Assess workplaces to ensure they are safe and work in line with site / company rules and requirements and stop working and seek guidance if you believe anything is unsafe
  • Comply with company requirements to carry out and adhere to risk assessments and safe systems of work and report all incidents, near misses, inadequate arrangements, or unsafe situations immediately in line with company reporting procedures
  • Participate in health and safety training, briefings, toolbox talks, and conferences as required and never interfere with anything provided in the interests of health and safety
  • Installation, Exchange, Removal and Maintenance of I&C gas metering assets and associated equipment, Installation and commissioning of correctors and Installation of AMR
  • Out of hours working to meet clients’ needs when required
  • Cover on call rota

 

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

  • CMA1 & MET4 minimum preferably CMET1 & CMET2, ICPN1 TPCP1 / TPCP1A
  • Previous experience working on Industrial & Commercial gas meters
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Confident IT ability on all Microsoft suites
  • Good understanding of mobile phone / tablet applications
