What's the role?

The Marketing & Content Executive role will sit within the Group Marketing team and act as a key support to the department, and wider business stakeholders, by contributing to and managing various day-to-day marketing and communications responsibilities. This includes, but is not limited to, managing the Group communications calendar (internal and external activity), social media, Outlook inboxes, website updates, promotional merchandise orders, general administrational tasks, and contribution to creative outputs.

You will join an experienced team of marketing practitioners, each of whom hold specific skillsets and responsibilities across the core marketing disciplines, including copy and content writing and digital campaign management. This is therefore a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to take the next step from an entry-level role and further develop their skills and marketing experience surrounded by experienced peers they can learn from.
In addition to being highly organised, you will need to show resilience to working within a fast-paced environment and have an appetite to learn. The role will be required to grow alongside the increasing demands put on the Marketing team by a fast growing business that operates across diverse B2B markets through a range of energy solutions.

Content creation and support will be a core part of this role, and the chosen candidate will report directly to the PR & Content Manager. You must therefore have very strong written communication skills, with a demonstrable – and ideally proven – aptitude for copy and content writing. It is expected that the role will initially focus on supporting internal communications, working towards contributing to marketing-specific content such as blogs and sales collateral.
Entering a small team, you may be required to carry out wider responsibilities, as the role adapts to fit business needs.
For more information on the range of solutions you will be supporting, visit our website.

The position is based at our Cardiff Office with travel when required.

Key responsibilities:

  • Carry out a mix of marketing and content writing responsibilities
  • Work closely with peers in the Marketing team, supporting them to meet departmental and business objectives
  • Be comfortable working to tight deadlines and ensuring they are met
  • Update and manage the Group Communications calendar, which includes internal and external comms.
  • Work with project teams and other internal stakeholders to support product/service launches and promotion
  • Work with external agencies to coordinate integrated activity
  • Support the production of marketing materials and promotional merchandise (working with onboarded agencies)
  • Manage both the Marketing and Internal Communications Outlook inboxes
  • Admin requirements e.g. purchase order management
  • Any other duties as required

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

 Essential

  • Excellent written/spoken communication and presentation skills, with demonstrable aptitude for content and copywriting
  • A passion for social media, preferably with experience managing social media platforms professionally within a marketing team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
  • Evidence of strong organisational skills and an ability to self-motivate and prioritise workload.

Desirable

  • Experience working for a business that operates across a variety of services and markets with multiple different internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience of briefing agency partners to create material for a variety of marketing channels, including but not limited to: collateral, website, videos, and social media.
  • Experience working in a technical field desirable (i.e. energy industry or similar)
