What's the role?
Responsible for the day-to-day co-ordination of utility services to Energy Services customers. The role includes working closely with statutory utilities and energy suppliers to ensure cost-effective utility connections within set deadlines. The role involves the progression of all relevant administration tasks, including co-ordination/liaison with the customer and other members of the customers design team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone to step into a department at the heart of SMS’s plans to grow into all the above sectors.
Work Schedule - Hybrid working Monday to Friday. Office based Thursdays and Fridays.
Key responsibilities:
- Communicating with utility personnel to ensure timely and cost-effective connections.
- Communicating / liaising with clients / utilities to identify and resolve problem areas.
- To work alongside Engineers / Projects Team Leader / Project Co-ordinators to provide a quality service to clients, within necessary deadlines.
- Data – Entry and maintenance of relevant project databases / spreadsheets.
- Production and up-keep of work-related spreadsheets / reports.
- Dealing with incoming data (via post, fax etc.) and processing internal enquiries
- Providing day-day administrative duties (filing, referencing, word processing etc).
- Attending client meetings as and when required.
- Any other duties as required by the local management team.
- Alongside the Engineer, assess quotation costs and recommend the most effective solution.
- Ensure invoicing is processed in a timely manner.
- Completing and issuing utility updates to the customer.
- Attend site meetings / client meetings with engineer when necessary.
- Excellent Project Management skills (ensuring all information is captured through project databases).
- Assisting in the production of customer fee proposals.
- Complete draft feasibility studies for engineering approval.
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
- Ability to organize and priorities to meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office Packages.
