What's the role?

Within the Data Services division, you will be responsible for ensuring the systems are fit for purpose and optimised for streamlining processes, working with internal IT and third-party service providers. 
 

You will also be carrying out extraction and analysis of data, identifying gaps and communicating improvement programs and implementing cleansing mechanisms. The results of this will feed into process improvement plans and be used to demonstrate where a system or process changes may be required. You may also be required to perform internal & external presentations, and training/knowledge transfer sessions on the systems, particularly where changes have been implemented.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Review of systems in line with internal processes and industry compliance
  • Specification and management of system changes
  • Liaising with internal IT and third-party service providers
  • Creation and development of reports
  • Gathering data from multiple systems and automating reports
  • Analysing data for gaps and anomalies and creating cleansing regimes.
  • Working with key staff members to understand processes and reporting requirements

 

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

  • SQL Query writing
  • Working knowledge of SQL queries/Azure, including querying data within an Oracle database
  • Working with PowerShell Scripts 
  • Use of reporting platforms e.g. Power BI, SSRS, Azure Data Factory, Power Platform
  • Conducting Presentations & Training on systems
  • Use of database table structures and working knowledge of table relationships
  • Working with BI Reporting Packages (e.g. Power BI, SQL Reporting, Azure Data Factory, etc)
  • Experience in system change requirements and managing through to “go live”
  • Utility industry knowledge (Electricity/Gas/Water) (desirable)
