SMS Plc provides a completely integrated end to end service.  From project managing the installation of gas and/ or electricity supply, including connections through to procurement, installation and management of the meter asset. We also offer data collection and on-going energy management solutions.

As the business continues to expand, we are looking to recruit Training Officers with previous work experience in the installation of domestic dual fuel metering systems with a training and coaching background. Based in Bolton with occasional travel to other sites you will be part of the training team delivering inductions, training new employees and upskilling the existing workforce. You will report directly to the Training Manager, your duties will include, designing and delivering training packages whether it be upskilling the existing workforce or training new engineers. Ensuring that the centre is fit for purpose at all times.  Assisting trainees with their portfolios and ensuring that all evidence collected is to the correct standard required. The training team need to deliver high quality safe engineers to the patch to ensure that business can grow.

 

Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in Dual Fuel installations
  • Previous experience of Training  
  • Assessing qualifications (desirable) (D32, D33, A1, A2, TAQA)
  • Coaching Skills
  • IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office incorporating Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Be an ambassador for safety
  • Be able to prioritise your own workload and work with initiative.
  • Maintain confidentiality of private and confidential information.
  • Deliver 1st class training in both gas and electric. This will be either upskilling or new to the industry.
  • Maintain effective relationships with colleagues, engineers and customers in a professional manner.
  • The ability to work under pressure and deliver within tight deadlines.
  • Be organised, methodical and can prioritise tasks accordingly.
  • Identify training needs and coach engineers where required.
  • Deliver qualification to engineers to allow the business to grow.
  • Ensure the centre is always fit for purpose .
  • Assess engineers as fit to work and meeting the requirements set by the governing bodies. 
  • Design training packages and session plans.
