What's the role?
The role will entail managing SMS customer Gas AMR (Automatic Meter Reader) data. You will be required to analyse and report on the performance of all SMS AMR devices. In addition, you will help manage third party contractors to ensure we quickly resolve any device issues arising.
As a Data Analyst your role will be essential in providing the high level of service which our customers have come to expect of the Gas Data Team. You will also strive to maintain excellence in the management of our data.
You will be part of a team who works closely with engineers and collaborates with other cross-disciplinary departments in SMS and contribute to a strong ‘end to end’ service for our customers. The role will also require direct contact with our customers.
Supported by the Gas Data Team Manager you will have the opportunity for development and further training. This is an excellent opportunity to join an experienced team who work to help and guide one another.
This role is based in our Glasgow Head Office, is contracted at 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday and offers hybrid working.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deal with internal & external enquiries from clients responding in a timely, professional manner in line with team SLAs.
- Analyse data and identify any faults. Where remote fixes are not possible you will coordinate with planning teams to visit site at the earliest opportunity.
- Producing prompt and accurate reporting for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Answer calls from engineers to ensure they attend and complete works to tight schedules and high quality standards. You will be expected to provide appropriate technical support (training will be provided.)
- All team members have a direct responsibility for ensuring that the Data Management system integrity is maintained through proactive management of the system on a daily, weekly, monthly and ad-hoc basis
- Prioritise work load in line with customer requirements
- Any other duties as required.
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- A relevant degree/qualification or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of the energy industry (desirable).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent IT literacy.
- Flexibility and the ability to tackle challenges head-on.
- Experience with mobile devices or telecommunications (desirable).
- Ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills with stakeholders at all business levels.
This role is offered on a hybrid working basis. All of our roles are based on 40 hours per week, with a 30 minute unpaid break for lunch.
