The Role
 
Working at our head office in Cardiff within a core function of Energy Services, you will assist with a variety of activities in order to deliver an effective energy service to a number of key clients.
The Energy Bureau Coordinator will undertake energy and invoice data analysis to support energy billing, energy management, energy brokerage and compliance requirements. You will maintain an energy data management platform that will facilitate the measurement and reporting of energy expenditure, energy markets, consumption trends and carbon footprints on behalf of the clients.
 
Special Conditions - May be called on from time to time to temporarily work on other projects / clients to support special projects. This will be allocated by the line manager in advance of any work required with full instruction.
 
 
 
 
Typical Duties
 
  • Gather and analyse energy consumption, energy markets, invoice data and energy asset information to support compliance reporting, consultancy activity and utility billing requirements
  • Validate information to identify and resolve errors
  • Resolve data inconsistencies through triangulation of relevant data sources 
  • Maintain and develop relevant energy databases
  • Establish good working relationships with clients, internal departments, suppliers, and third parties to resolve errors, identify opportunities and secure refunds owed to clients where applicable.  
  • Document relevant processes to communicate to stakeholders and support quality management 
  • Support new business development activity as required 
  • Maintain an awareness of developments within the energy/utilities marketplace 
  • Carry out all necessary administrative duties as required 
  • To comply with all SMS plc Health, Safety and Environmental requirements
 
 
 
Essential Skills
 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Good numerical ability with an attention to detail
  • IT literate (Microsoft Excel / Word etc)
  • Adept at identifying and solving problems on own initiative and work well within a team environment
  • Able to organize and prioritise work to meet deadlines and manage the expectations of stakeholders.
 
 
 
Education and Professional Qualifications
 
  • Degree level education (non-specified)
  • GCSE (or equivalent) English / Mathematics at grades C or above
  • Additional 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grades D or above
 
 
 
 
Desirable Experience 
 
  • Employment experience within the utility industry
  • Minimum 1-year experience in an office environment unless recent graduate
  • History of data analysis within a working environment
