What's the role?
As an EV Installations and Metering Engineer you will be reporting to the EV Operations Manager, you will form part of a growing business targeted at meeting the accelerating demand for electric vehicles and the consequent requirement for home charging infrastructure.
The role will be field based, visiting customers’ properties, primarily to install and commission the latest Electrical Vehicle charging equipment. There will also be a requirement to complete smart metering installations as a secondary work type, to ensure differing customer & business requirements can be fulfilled efficiently.Ensuring both the safety of yourself and your customers will be the number one priority of the role holder and therefore a real attention to detail and quality of workmanship is essential.
Alongside technical excellence, this role also requires a personality that can engage with customers and ensure they are fully satisfied with the work completed and understand how to maximise the benefits of their installation.As a business with clear growth plans over the coming years, this role represents an opportunity to help build and shape the future direction of both the business and your individual career.
Key responsibilities:
- Installing and testing EV charging equipment
- Installing Smart/AMR electricity meters upto and including 3 Phase
- Ensuring all relevant documentation and certifications are accurately completed.
- Ensuring Health & Safety standards & regulations are observed throughout.
- Engaging with customer on site to deliver an excellent customer experience
- Providing support and mentoring to new or upskilled recruits where required
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- C&G 2382-18 - BS7671 18th Edition
- C&G 2919 – Electric Vehicle Installations
- C&G 2391 or equivalent (EIC / ECIR)
- Member or an awarding body such as NAPIT or NICEIC (Desirable)
- CMA/Met 1 or CCN 1 metering qualifications
- Full UK driving license
- Sound Health & Safety knowledge and experience within electrical installation projects (RAMS / SHEQ /CDM)
