The Role
Joining at an exciting growth phase in SMS, the aim of the role is to assist the Field Services Team leader and Operations Management Team in the scheduling of installation of renewables such as EV, Battery, PV and other Carbon Reduction (CaRe) type technologies, in addition to post-meter electrical works, meter installs and other electrical contracting works, as required for SMS ES.
The role is to act as a Field Services Coordinator, assisting in the scheduling and access requirements for the various technical resources to enable SMS ES to meet their required levels of works.
The Field Services Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring the appropriate systems, process and operational controls are followed and furthermore will help to identify and implement operational efficiencies. The role also involves regular reporting, maintaining databases and ensuring P&L is recorded for each job.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in scheduling on site activities for the Operations Department (Field Services Team) in accordance with Management guidelines (includes access arrangements)
- Raise permits, outages and access requests on the relevant customer system to ensure that access can be gained in line with the program dates of the work/customer needs
- Liaising and coordinating with Contractors to establish if previous day’s work has been completed and all relevant paperwork/documentation is received to allow jobs to be claimed
- Raising jobs and additional services onto internal and external systems and ensuring that these are completed or cancelled in a timely manner
- Establish good working relationships with both internal & external customers
- Ensuring all necessary actions are taken to make way for successful completion of all jobs
- Working with the Field Services Manager and wider Field Services Team on any other duties that are required
- Ensure Health & safety compliance and support of CaRe & Infrastructure delivery works. Ensuring appropriate H & S policies and procedures are followed and that all instructions are fully compliant.
- Ensure all RAMS are received complete and submitted for review in a timely manner.
- Ensure Field Services operations are completed in accordance with agreed internal or customer KPI’s
- Ensure the Quality Assurance audit regime is followed.
- Conducts oneself and portrays oneself in a professional manner and demonstrates a positive image when representing SMS ES.
- Adherence to all relevant SMS processes, policies, and procedures
- Any other duties as required by the Operation Manager (FS) or Head of Utility Services
Educational Qualifications/Memberships
- Relevant GCSE’s or equivalent.
Skills and Knowledge
Essential
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Packages
- Able to organize and priorities to meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Excellent problem solving
Desirable
- Previous experience in an Electrical Contracting / Construction environment
- Previous experience of scheduling resource within an Electrical Contracting, EV Charging environment / Renewables , PV, Battery, ASHP.
- H & S knowledge and experience
- Utilities Industry Knowledge
- Previous experience of scheduling activities.
