The Role

Reporting to the Engineering Director, the works will span all aspects of the Grid Scale Renewables Development process, including carrying out Grid feasibility studies, G99 works from initial applications budget through to final connection. 
The Company Projects are predominately around large-Scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) schemes connected at 33KV, 132KV or directly to National Grid apparatus although may well develop into other Renewable technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Feasibility studies, to assess land parcels for development. To involve constraint investigations, budget costing potential connections, interrogation of DNO / National Grid Information etc.
  •  Liaising with internal clients in information gathering to support initial G99 application.
  • Assessing connection offers.

Skills and Knowledge

  • A HNC (Level 5) qualification (or equivalent) in electrical engineering is seen as the essential minimum qualification with relevant experience. Whilst a degree in electrical engineering is desirable.
  • IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent) or better is desirable.
  • Membership of a professional body such as the IET is desirable, where Incorporated/Chartered Engineer Status would be seen as an advantage.
  • Experienced background in Electrical Design within a NERS (ICP) or DNO  
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding G99 and other related EREC such as G100
  • Knowledge and experience within the renewable’s industry.
  • Able to interpret technical documents, specifications, and drawings.
