The Role
Working as part of an established team within our Energy Services Infrastructure department , you will be responsible for the delivery of new connections, diversions, disconnections and upgrades. Responsible for reporting regular updates and progress to customers ensuring the power process is followed and delivered in line with both SMS plc and Customer expectations.
Typical Duties
- Liaising and coordinating with utilities organisations to ensure the timely delivery of new connections, diversions, disconnections and upgrades
- Liaising and coordinating with utilities organisations and customers to identify and resolve site specific problems
- Establish good working relationships with customers and utilities organisations
- Liaising and negotiating wayleaves with third party landowners
- Ensuring all necessary actions are taken (obtaining MPAN, registering MPAN etc.) to make way for successful meter installations
- Maintain and develop relevant project databases
- Maintain departmental administrative compliance with requirements ISO9000:2000 quality management system
- Maintain an awareness of developments within the energy/utilities marketplace
- Carry out all necessary administrative duties as required
- Attending customer / DNO meeting with support from management
- Any other duties as required by the team leader
Essential Skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft office packages (especially EXCEL)
- Able to organise and prioritise to meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Excellent problem solving is desirable
Education and Professional Qualifications
- GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English
Experience
- Previous experience of coordination activities is essential for this role
- Utilities Industry Knowledge would be desirable
