What's the role?

Reporting to the Stock Team Leader, the Stock Administrator is responsible for ensuring replenishment and stock system accuracy and stock reporting activity.  This role will require good communication and close working with warehouse/transport functions to ensure timely and accurate replenishment of stock.

The stock administrator will work alongside operations to support engineers via email/phone. The stock administrator will create engineer orders, showing both speed and accuracy.

The stock administrator will work across both forward and reverse functions dependant on requirement.

The role will also entail day to day maintenance of relevant systems and raising of documentation and reports to allow efficient processing. Including daily schedules, POD, communication to other departments, chasing up collections, dispatches, reporting any anomalies, etc. Liaising closely with the warehouse team in ensuring all requests are ready for dispatch as per the working schedule.

 

This role is offered on a hybrid working basis, consisting of 2 days in office and 3 days at home on average. It is contracted at 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Some of the key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Reporting to the Stock Team Leader on site and working alongside the Warehouse Team in ensuring the full process is adhered to from start to finish. 
  • To update and maintain relevant systems & spreadsheets relating to the Reverse Logistics Operations (Removed Assets & Triage).
  • To maintain high standards of data input, adjustments and reporting to enable system integrity relating to the Reverse Logistics Operations (Removed Assets & Triage).
  • To take initiative and comfortably respond to any queries, escalating if necessary, working closely with others and using own initiative. 
  • Liaising daily with the Glasgow and Doncaster department on collections, third-parties request, storage, communications etc.
  • To assist the Stock Team Leader in carryout stock checks at month end working with the warehouse team, in ensuring all data is collated and passed on accordingly.
  • To complete ad-hoc duties that supports both the function and the business as and when requested.
  • Reporting to and working with the stock team to ensure physical stockholding across all SMS locations is accurately reflected within the stock system.

 

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have/be:

  • Demonstratable knowledge of Stock/Admin. 
  • Experience working within a Warehouse environment, able to work with others and own initiative.
  • Experience working in accordance to daily schedules.
  • Strong Microsoft and excel skills.
  • Able to work in a busy and demanding environment without sacrificing quality or breaching H&S Rules and Regulations.
  • The ability to cope under pressure and to persevere.
  • The ability to use judgement to make sound decisions and solve problems.
  • Able to follow correct policies, procedures and standards at all times.
